Wise Acres U-Pick Farm – CLOSED until mid-April

Reservations required.

We are anticipating an opening date of April 19. That is subject to change as we wait and see what the weather brings (for instance, after uncovering the strawberries earlier this week for warm weather we covered them again tonight for possible frost). We are planning on opening a limited number of reservations beginning on April 7 at 5:00pm. However, most of our reservations will be posted weekly on Tuesdays at 5:00pm after we assess field conditions and weather so don’t worry if the first ones fill up quickly as there will be many more to come.

Please understand that all strawberry picking will be by reservation only. If you follow us on social media, you will have seen our last post about crop rotation. As the only USDA certified organic farm in the area, we can only plant 1/3 of our fields in strawberries each year. That means we have a limited supply of organic berries, and we cannot risk damaging our plants and soil by over picking and field mismanagement. We understand it can be a challenge with reservations, and we appreciate your understanding.
Strawberry plant production is on a bell curve and peak picking is usually late April/early May.  Those peak weeks will allow the most pickers so we will likely be adding many more reservations then.

  • Farm visits by RESERVATION only. Seasonal Dates TBD
  • Spring strawberry season is mid-April through early June
  • Summer blueberry & sunflower season is June through early July
  • Fall pumpkin season is mid-September through early November
  • NC Christmas tree season is late November
  • U-cut flowers are available every season spring – fall

Thank you!

We now serve beer, hard cider & wine.  NO outside alcohol allowed per state regulation.

We accept all forms of payment including cash (preferred), checks, and all credit cards.

Sorry, no dogs are allowed on the farm. (We love dogs but please help us keep our farm and pickers protected by keeping beloved Fido at home.  Of course, service pets are always welcome.)

Please see our Wise Acres page and FAQ page for more detail. Thank you.
